POSTED April 6, 2012 2:42 p.m.

Manteca High’s boys track and field team came through with another statement win Thursday, soundly beating traditional Valley Oak League power Oakdale, 82-54.

With a narrow victory over defending champion Sierra already under their belt, the 4-0 Buffaloes are in the driver’s seat to capture the title with three conference dual meets remaining.

Meanwhile, Oakdale’s undefeated girls had their way with the Lady Buffaloes, 104-22.

Sprinting standout Jordan Lyons paced the Manteca boys with wins in the 200- and 400-meter dashes. He joined Roland Pacheco, who also had himself a big day, on the winning 4x400 relay.

Pacheco set a personal record of 12 feet, 6 inches in the pole vault to place himself among the Sac-Joaquin Section’s elite. He added second-place points in the 400 behind Lyons.

Donovan Lucas won the 100 and was the runner-up in the 200. Isaiah Cruz claimed both distance events, Daniel Clemons took first in the shot put and Ben Tolman triumphed in the triple jump and placed third in the long.

Sophie Barragan was the Buffalo girls’ top producer with runner-up finishes in the 100 and 200.
